The logo identity of Cal Academy of Sciences is based on a math principle: the Cantor set. It is a way for mathematicians to count to infinity by creating a set of points lying on a single line segment. It is created by subtracting the middle third of the line, and continue doing so... well, until infinity. This represents the Academy's devotion to seek knowledge and explore the unknown in their mission to explain, experience, and sustain life on this world.
